Overview
Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of Luang Prabang Province in northern Laos, lies in a valley at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. Inhabited for thousands of years, it was the royal capital of the country until 1975.
Wat Xieng Thong is one of the largest temples in Luang Prabang. A symbol of great historic importance, its structure has characteristics of 16th-century Lao architecture
Nam Khan (Khan River) acts as a vital resource for lowland communities, the ecosystem upon which agriculture, fishing, even tourism relies.

Arrival in Luang Prabang. Meeting with the English Speaking guide. Transfer to the city center and hotel
accommodation. Free day to rest or take a first discovery of the city.

Today we continue the visit to Luang Prabang with the temple of Wat Xieng Thong, a magnificent
architectural masterpiece,
After leaving this village we pass through the beautiful mountain landscape to the
mysterious Pak Ou Caves.

Experienced local guide will bring you straight to the elephant camp for the
first part of today’s activities. The elephant camp is located in the middle of a wonderful forested
mountainous area at the banks of the scenic Nam Khan River. Stunning landscapes and the quietness of nature make for a relaxing ride. Transfer by small boat across the river to begin trekking. This is an easy hike through beautiful jungle
with surrounding mountains in the river valley. Arrive at a Khmu hill-tribe village where your local
guide will help you explore life nestled in the mountains. Most of the people here are farmers and fishermen and subsist on their traditional way of agriculture. They even speak a different language here, and your guide will help to ask any questions you have.
Return by boat and vehicle to conclude your Laos elephant and jungle adventure.
